Welcome to Gilles Robinson, our new Service Officer!

We are delighted to welcome Gilles Robinson as Service Officer in the NHU national Office in Ottawa. Gilles brings us a lengthy and deep involvement with the labour movement that will well serve our members. An executive member of the union representing employees of the E.B Eddy paper mill in Gatineau, Gilles was a founding member of the newly-created Canadian Paperworkers Union in 1974. Shortly thereafter, Gilles was hired as a Regional Representative in the National Capital Regional Office of our bargaining agent, the Public Service Alliance of Canada. In 1978, he pursued his career as Service Officer and Union Representative with several PSAC Component Unions.

Gilles’ dedication to unionism extends to his own workplace: a founding leader of the Canadian Union of Union Employees, he also served as 1st Vice-President of what is now the Canadian Office and Professional Employees Union.

With his arrival, Gilles completes the staffing of our National Office. He has our warmest best wishes on joining the NHU team.
